About the activity

Yoga and Ayurveda share the same view of the human being: we are not all alike, and therefore the same practice does not necessarily have the same effect on everyone. In this workshop, we will explore āsana practice from the perspective of the three doṣa — Vāta, Pitta and Kapha — and see how the qualities of each constitution can guide us when choosing, adapting and sequencing the practice. We will work both theoretically and practically to understand how the rhythm, intensity, duration, breathing and attitude with which we perform an āsana can profoundly alter its effects. The aim is not to create “a Yoga practice for each doṣa”, but to learn to observe and use the practice with greater discernment. A way to bring Yoga and Ayurveda together through a practical, conscious approach that respects each person’s individuality.
